How much would it cost to buy the ThunderCats’ Lair? A HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! lot of money!
8. First Earth to Echo poster
One movie that slipped under the radar is Earth to Echo, which could either be this year’s E.T. or Mac and Me.
Here’s the synopsis:
“Tuck, Munch and Alex are a closely bonded trio of inseparable friends, but their time together is coming to an end. Their neighborhood is being destroyed by a highway construction project that is forcing their families to move away.
“But just two days before they must part ways, the boys find a cryptic signal has infected their phones. Convinced something bigger is going on and looking for one final adventure together, they set off to trace the messages to their source and discover something beyond their wildest imaginations: hiding in the darkness is a mysterious being, stranded on Earth, and wanted by the government. This launches the boys on an epic journey full of danger and wonder, one that will test the limits of their friendship and change all of their lives forever. Starring Teo Halm, Brian “Astro” Bradley, Reese Hartwig and Ella Linnea Wahlestedt, EARTH TO ECHO opens in theaters nationwide on July 2nd, 2014!”

6. Blockbusted Blogathon: Batman & Robin (via Scouring Monk)
As much as I dislike the film, you can’t beat Tony’s enthusiasm.
To be perfectly clear: Batman & Robin is not my favorite movie. It’s really not even close. That being said, I unabashedly love Batman & Robin.
5. Hear Rocket and Groot Speak in New GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Trailer (via He Geek She Geek)
Finally, we get to hear the two most visually interesting members of the Guardians (if you don’t count naked Zoe Saldana) speak! Groot sounds great, but what did you expect from the former Iron Giant. I’m just not sold on Bradley Cooper’s Rocket Raccoon, though. I think I’ve been spoiled on the cockney accented version […]
4. She-Hulk Co-Creator Stan Lee Reacts to David Goyer’s “Porn Star” Statements (via The Mary Sue)
Earlier this week The Dark Knight writer David Goyer said She-Hulk is “a giant green porn star” and Craig Mazin called her “Slut-Hulk” for her large breasts and muscular build. Creator Stan Lee responded:
I know I was looking for a new female superhero, and the idea of an intelligent Hulk-type grabbed me. …Never for an instant did I want her as a love interest for Hulk. Only a nut would even think of that. — Stan Lee, speaking to The Washington Post’s Comic Riffs.

2. Gareth Edwards is Directing the First Star Wars Spin-Off Film (via /Film)
This is going to put off the next Godzilla movie, but it could be the Boba Fett spin-off movie!
In addition to the episodes of a new Star Wars trilogy, Lucasfilm and Disney have begun development on multiple stand-alone movies that will offer new stories beyond the core Saga. Gareth Edwards will direct the first stand-alone film, with a screenplay by Gary Whitta. The film is due out December 16, 2016.
Gareth Edwards blazed into the filmmaking forefront with his acclaimed work on Monsters, a film he wrote, directed and served on as cinematographer and visual effects artist. The skill and vision readily apparent in Monsters earned him the high-profile spot directing this year’s smash hit Godzilla.
“Ever since I saw Star Wars I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life – join the Rebel Alliance! I could not be more excited & honored to go on this mission with Lucasfilm, said Edwards.
Gary Whittas screenwriting credits include 2010s The Book of Eli starring Denzel Washington. He is also well known as a journalist and editor in the video game industry, as well as part of the BAFTA award-winning team on Telltale Games adaptation of The Walking Dead.
Whitta states, “From the moment I first saw the original movie as a wide-eyed kid, Star Wars has been the single most profound inspiration to my imagination and to my career as a writer. It is deeply special to me,so to be given the opportunity to contribute to its ongoing legacy, especially in collaboration with a film-maker as talented as Gareth,is literally a dream come true. I’m still pinching myself.”

Godzilla (2014) – Recommended
Official Synopsis:“An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.”
This film takes some getting used to. When the first monster fight happens it’s way off in the background and I started to hate the movie. But then I realized it was important to have characters you care about. The final battle is powerful thanks to the characters. Because you love the heroes when Godzilla saves them he becomes a hero. Gareth Edwards did a great job creating a human story from the Godzilla movie and all the actors are great. The real stand-out is Bryan Cranston’s character as the “crazy” guy trying to find out the real reason for the nuclear disaster that killed his wife.

Good summary of Godzilla.
Little more interested in the Star Wars spin off knowing Edwards will direct.
She-Hulk a —- star? But of course.
And the new Guardians trailer is awesome!
As far as superpowers I immediately start thinking how I can use them for evil. Turning invisible or phasing through walls would certainly help with robbing a bank. If you could read someone's mind think of all the dirty secrets and bank account numbers and such you could pry out? Bwahahahhahahaha…
I hate to say I know sort of what Goyer was driving at. I mean look how every comic book artist ever draws female characters. There's a lot of wish fulfillment going on there. But comic book illustrating probably takes a lot of hours which probably doesn't leave a lot of time for dating. On the surface though I think Stan Lee was just doing what they did in the 30s with Frankenstein and then Bride of Frankenstein.
And you know Tony always has to go against the grain, so of course he'd love Batman and Robin.
I have to see Godzilla. I should do it soon while it's still in the fake IMAX theater near me because that seems the best way except for the real IMAX, which would be epic.
I only scored 149 out of 250, and of those, there are quite a few I won't openly admit to watching haha.
I would press the pink button. Ultimately the ability to heal others seems like the best choice. I forgot about Earth to Echo. I'm going with it being a Mac and MeExplorers rather than ET.
I choose orange — assuming I won't be all sweaty at the end of my run.
Echo totally looks like it's going for the next ET w/ that finger on the poster.
Oh yeah Nicki, I never noticed the finger connection. I can't imagine not sweating with a run like that so use a good deodorant.
Ooh Explorers! That's old school Tim, but I can see it. Yeah, I felt the same way about the list. I blocked some of these movies from my memory. 😉
I guess it's a super villain button too Pat. 🙂 That's true of a lot of characters though. Look at Power Girl. I don't have a problem with her.
Godzilla in IMAX would be good. I loved it in plain old 2D.
I was mildly interested in the inbetween films until I heard about him directing. Now I'm excited about the possibilities.
I like alone time, so I chose Red.
Super excited about Gareth Edwards and Star Wars!
132 some I have no clue what they are!
The ability to fly. Easily. So blue. (Green would also be cool. Said the apparent Beast Boy fanboy…)
You're in good company Tony!
It's the most exciting announcement since Episode VII!
