Is This Our First Look at DOCTOR WHO’S New Sonic Screwdriver? [Doctor Who]

Doctor Who (2013) – Doctor (Matt Smith)

Could this be our first look at Peter Capaldi’s new Sonic Screwdriver? Maybe yes. Maybe no.

    Warning: Spoilers!

Whenever there’s a new regeneration of the Doctor on Doctor Who there are three things the fans look for: the new outfit, the new TARDIS interior and the new look of the Sonic Screwdriver. It doesn’t always happen, but we love it when it does. The new season of Doctor Who is filming episode 3 of season 8 right now and Doctorwhotv.co.uk got some behind-the-scenes images and video showing the 12th Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, filming. There’s not really much to look at. BUT. We do get a look at him using his sonic screwdriver. Is it the same as the 11th Doctor’s? It has the green light and basic shape, but the pics are a little too blurry to be sure.

    Here’s the video:

Here’s what Matt Smith’s sonic looked like.

If you want to see every use of the Sonic Screwdriver over the years then watch our Sonic Screwdriver supercut.

If you’re a Doctor Who fan, does this look like a new sonic screwdriver? If you’re not a Doctor Who fan…does it matter?

I don't watch the show, so I had no clue about the screwdriver. Looks interesting.

    2. Jay Noel on March 26, 2014 2:39 pm

It looks exactly the same! Interesting. Maybe he'll lose it and have to build a new one.

I do not think I have seen Dr. Who but from an outsider, the does look unique.

    4. Tony Laplume on March 26, 2014 3:44 pm

It's obviously his pen. Bleeding ink. Cosmic ink!

    5. DAVID WALSTON on March 26, 2014 4:55 pm

I spend a lot of time @ Doctor Who TV! It looks rather similar to 11's, maybe it doesn't spread out like Matts. I'm more intrigued by the robot owl thingy, and the fact that his overcoat is a funny hue.

    6. jeremy on March 26, 2014 7:27 pm

sorry not been around, i just would like a sonic screwdriver… does it fix bone?

    7. Maurice Mitchell on March 26, 2014 7:33 pm

      It's a wonderful device Medeia. 🙂

    8. Maurice Mitchell on March 26, 2014 7:34 pm

That's what I'm hoping Jay. Smith had the screwdriver for a minute and then it got blown up. Of course, three episodes is a long time for the screwdriver to stick around.

    9. Maurice Mitchell on March 26, 2014 7:34 pm

There's nothing else like it! Unless you buy the remote control. And then it's exactly like it. 🙂

    10. Maurice Mitchell on March 26, 2014 7:35 pm

A sonic pen! It could be the next thing y'know?

    11. Maurice Mitchell on March 26, 2014 7:37 pm

It's an awesome site David. I'm assuming the outfit is just a disguise, but we'll see. As for the robot owl, I dunno. It's no cyberman!

    12. Maurice Mitchell on March 26, 2014 7:39 pm

It does everything else Jeremy! I'm sure it would fix you up in two seconds. I hope you'll feel better soon Man and thanks for stopping by.

I would like one no matter what it looks like. It seems kind of like a magic wand.

Rosamund Pike who plays Barney replica wathces wife says, Adrien managed to do was give Paul and I faces from which we could look with our own eyes and through our own expressions. supported us, rendered the ageing of prada handbags the characters believable, but left the whole process unobtrusive. explains that it is to create realistic aging makeup. It takes skills that only a handful of artists gucci replica can pull off. Audiences needed to watch the story without being sidetracked with clich makeup. Paul acting role went from early 30 chanel replica to late 50 and the changes are so subtle that we believe audiences will accept it as real. Continued on the next page

Owning a screwdriver becomes a necessity today when you cannot run out there and fetch a mechanic to do your small time repair work. Bussmann Fuses
