Which is your favorite science fiction movie based on a book? It’s time
for the results of last times poll
and the new question.
The movie is never as good as the book, but this year we saw several
movies
based on books. Some soared, like The
Hunger Games: Catching Fire, while others flopped,
like The Mortal Instruments: City
of Bones and Ender’s
Game. It made me wonder which is your favorite movie based on a
book or short story? This isn’t a question of which is a good book. For
example, I hated the Time Traveler’s Wife book but
like the movie.
So here’s the question (select up to three):
The results of last time’s poll – Are
You Like This Watching a Marvel Superhero Film? – is like me, you
are a drooling Marvel movie fan (75%)
followed by the rest of the fans that are nothing like that. (16%).
Of the non-fans, you find us drooling fans really annoying (8%). Sorry.
Vote below and come back in two weeks for the results and the next
poll.
Come back next week for the bi-weekly caption contest
and comes back in two weeks for the next poll.

MOVIE OVERLOAD!!!!
I went with other… Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? [1968] to Blade Runner [1982]…. there are some really good ones on the list.
That was easy!
Jeremy's pick is good.
If Battlefield Earth gets one vote though, I'll be shocked.
I voted for Children of Men, Hitchhiker's, and Time Traveler's Wife. All good movies in completely different ways.
You can vote for more than one?
*Homer Simpson voice* Doh!!!
Some surprised me too L!
I loved the Iron Giant, had no idea it was a book. Jurassic park was way better than the book to me. I almost voted for the Prestige too, but couldn't bring myself to do it over Contact, one of may favorite movies of all time.
I tried to choose more than three. But it is only three.
Why was the awful Battlefield Earth included but not Ender's Game? There are better movies on the list than Ender's Game, of course, but Ender's Game would be my favorite. It certainly didn't flop. Both that movie and Catching Fire were good adaptations.
Wow Reid. It was in the original MASSIVE list and I must have accidentally deleted it when I was shortening it. It's back now if you want to vote it up. I haven't seen Ender's Game, so I can't talk about whether it's any good, but it never did make it's $100 million back.
