9 Ways SHARKNADO Influenced Pop Culture

Sharknado is the gift that keeps on giving. Just the name of the movie was enough to set Twitter on fire. While the actual movie wasn’t as popular, Sharknado’s place in pop culture has been firmly cemented, as evidenced by the sheer number of things inspired by it. Here’s an overview of some of the best we’ve seen.

    1. Sharknado vs. The Racing Presidents

It’s a tradition for the Washington Nationals to have a bunch of people dressed up as US Presidents for a race. As weird as that is, it got weirder on July 19, 2013. As the Presidents ran up the field, another mascot dressed up as Sharknado came out and broke up the race.

    2. Shark-NATO

What if the movie was about an intergovernmental military alliance? This would be its flag.

    3. Sharknado Cocktail

With a movie this bad, you might need a stiff drink to get through it. Sharknado actually has at least two drinks inspired by it: The Sharkicane and the Sharknado Cocktail.

    4. LEGO Sharknado

The hardest part on this Lego creation was making the little Tara Reid…

    5. Sharknado Hair

At the San Diego Comic Con, this young lady introduced the Sharknado haircut. I think it’s related to the beehive.

    6. Sharknado Cake

Of course, if it’s a part of pop culture, someone makes a cake out of it. That’s where Charm City Cakes came in.

    7. Sharknado Gelato

PizzaNola created a flavor of gelato called Chum in honor of Sharknado…

    8. Sharknado Embroidery

When you think shark infested tornadoes, you think of cross stitching…

    9. Cat Costume

I don’t think the cat appreciates this anywhere near as much as we do

    Is everything better with Sharknado?

The sharknado haircut would seem hard to walk around in.

A major publisher is now putting out Sharkano as a result. Wild, huh?

I never really liked Sharknado. In my opinion, it just looked all too fake.

Haha, love the Legos. And the gelato looks tasty. I'm still trying to figure out how that cake is standing.
