Would You Rather Fly or Have Super-Strength? [Poll]

If you could only have one superpower, would you rather be able to fly or have super strength?

    (Brandon Routh)

    This week’s poll
asks which superpower would you rather have? If you’ve ever
seen Superman or Hulk or the Avengers maybe the thought crossed your
mind: “I’d love to have that power.” Well here’s your chance to pick
from two of the most popular ones.

But, first we have to set some ground rules. This is the only power you
have, so it limits what you can do.

    Flight

    You
can’t breathe without oxygen, so you can’t
    fly higher than 8,000 feet
    (2500
meters). No flying to the moon and back. You can’t fly faster than 300
mph either. But there’s a bunch you can do with this power. You can’t
fly around the world in five seconds, but you can fly taller than most
buildings. The tallest man-made structure is the Burj Khalifa
in Dubai, United Arab Emirates at 2,722 ft (829.8 m). So you can look
    down on the city.

    Strength

    You
have super strong muscles, but normal skin, tendons and bones. Have you
ever seen “The World’s Strongest Man” competitions? I love that show!
It shows even normal people can do incredible feats of strength. So,
let’s say you can do what they do, times two. The most they lift is
1,100 lb (500 kg) straight off the ground. You can
lift a car at 4,000 pounds, but you can’t hold it over your head and
walk around with it because your bones couldn’t stand the strain. You
can’t punch through a brick wall because it would turn your hands into
    hamburger.

There you have it. Which would you choose? Personally, I vote for
strength because I get nervous at tall heights. Vote using the poll below or in the comments.

Ask your friends to answer this question too. The answer may surprise
    you.

    Would
you rather have flight or super strength
    ?

In the Scarlet Knight series the reason she can't fly is that Merlin tells her she'd be too dangerous to everyone around her and probably go around crashing into airliners by accident and stuff. I mean if we were meant to fly around we'd have wings, right?

I would go with "other." As a girl, I don't really think super strength would be very feminine. That's for boys.

I would choose teleportation. It has some of the pros of being able to fly, but without the danger Pat described. Yup, teleportation is the best super power to have. IMO.

I'd select flying, however I'd take invisibility over that.

Flight all the way! I grew up flying in my dad's two-seater ercoupe and it was awesome! The crazy thing is I'm nervous about heights like tall buildings, but if I could jump off those buildings and fly – problem solved.

    5. Tony Laplume on February 28, 2013 5:47 pm

Flight, easily. I've fantasized about it for years. And I'll go ahead and plug someone else's comic book about it: Skipper Martin's Bizarre New World, if you want to have a look at that.

I'd rather fly. I could travel to so many places, even though I can't go too high.
