That's what Disney gets for letting Robin Williams ad-lib!
Well he is a genie so maybe he has prophetic knowledge of the future.
The alternate explanation is that animated movies have a very loose grasp of reality. Hence clown fish not actually being funny.
Of course, that's the most logical explanation. But the future theory explains a lot, doesn't it?
That's actually a good theory. The fact he chooses to use that power to impersonate celebrities no one ever heard of triggers a new theory: the Genie is insane
Maybe it's magic? Maybe the Genie is really an AI. But then the AI thing fits into it being set in the future …
Theories like this crack me up. I have friends that talk about stuff like this with practically everything they watch, and I always want to shake them by the shoulders and say, "Just enjoy the movie!"
But it's fun, I suppose. 😉
"Stick to the script, Robin! You're breaking the fourth wall!"
This is yet another example (there are TONZ coming out of Hollywood these days) of us imposing our modern culture on period pieces. I mean, how anachronistic was the language in the last western you saw? My favorite is the Madagascar movies, that deal with economic issues, especially labor, but are supposedly geared toward 5 year olds. Just hysterical! These theories are kind of fun to hear about, though. It makes me feel better about my own neuroses! Thanks for posting! 😀
To us, artificial intelligence would be magic
Interesting theory. It's funny, but my sister and I were just talking about the more zanny theories about Disney's Aladdin a few days ago.
Sounds interesting! Care to share?
Hahahaha charming. Of course, the last time I saw Aladdin, I was ten or something. I just thought that the Genie being so out of place with the rest of the movie was hilarious. How wrong I was. Missed an entire conspiracy. ;-P
One of my favourite animated films of all time.
Yeah, good points. Westerns are kind of loose, and I thought the first Madagascar was pretty edgy. Haven't seen the others, though
I think about this stuff all the time
It's pretty good
Its always great to see conspiracy news! http://internettruth.org/
Hmmm… Well whether Disney's Aladdin is really in the future or not- a live-action version of Aladdin set in the future IS happening! The movie's website is http://www.Aladdin3477.com
My only issue with this theory is that I remember during Aladdin and Jasmine's magic carpet ride they witnessed the man carving the Sphinx and him seeing them caused him to chisel off the nose on accident, thus giving explanation to why the Sphinx has no nose. I always thought that implied that the story was taking place a long time ago and I interpreted the Genie's impressions and being trapped for 10,000 years and all that to just be the writers trying to make him funny and not really putting much thought into the actual timeline. Maybe Genie knowing about "3rd Century clothing" is by him being magical…
Maybe they have vandalism on a massive scale, and somebody vandalised the Sphinx by putting a nose on it.
thats not an infographic.
in one of the games on gebnesis there a stop sign in the desert
you must've watched the Game Grumps episode too then huh. Never heard of this theory. All the theories I've ever heard from Disney films were all subliminal sexual innuendos. Life is pretty much about sex and death anyway so it's no surprise ithose themes show up in art. As far as this theory though, it is comprised mainly of anachronisms, so it is kind of weak sauce. That stop sign is pretty eerie though.
ever think Disney was trying to relate to his audience, or maybe be funny. Imagine Genie imitating Confucius-not very entertaining. Also, all Disney conspiracies I've heard are about hidden sexual innuendos, which I have never really spotted-that is to say, you have to be "in the gutter" almost 24/7 to see these things and assume there actually is a conspiracy theory revolving around them
