This week, “The Geek Twins” are given three awards and giving out 30! What would a female Wolverine look like? Do we finally know the real reason G.I. Joe 2 has been delayed? Is a Spock Mr. Potato Head worth the money? Should women write about superheroes? Is Khan going to be in Star Trek 2?
I’m still dinking with the format to make this less list less chaotic. Let me know what you think of the layout.
1. Trivia
The Avengers (2012) is a popular superhero film. How many Academy Award nominees are there in the cast and crew?
(Answer at the end of the post)
Bonus Trivia Winner: Tony Laplume “Three actors: Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Wil Wheaton. Wheaton!!”
2. Awards
For some reason we got a whole bunch of awards from awesome bloggers. You guys are so cool and we are so humbled! We’re sharing them all in one big post.

Thanks to Michael Abayomi for the “The Kreativ Blogger Award!”
Rules: Link to the blog that gave you the award. List 10 randoms facts about yourself, and then nominate 6 other blogs.
For most of these awards, you’re supposed to give seven (or ten) interesting facts about yourself. Since no one wants to sit and read a list of 14 factoids about us, I’ll just share some common answers to questions about twins.
Seven Frequently Asked Twin Questions Answered
- We have never dated the same girl or tried to trick a girl. We have totally different tastes in women. Plus, we don’t like being slapped.
- No, we have not switched places at school or work. Why would I want to do my brother’s work?
- We do have a memory of switching places when I almost drowned in a pool. I remember running to Mom, while he remembers being underwater. *** X-Files Music***
- We’re identical twins, but “mirror” twins. I’m right-handed and he’s left-handed. 25% of identical twins are mirror twins.
- We never dress alike. Not even accidentally. Mainly because we have different tastes in clothing. We did share clothes a lot when we were young, but our Mom made sure we had seperate sets of clothes.
- We are not named the same thing, but our names mean the same thing in different languages. Maurice is based on the French word for “Black” while Nigel is based on the Spanish word for “Black.” Our Mom is very creative.
- We’re identical twins, but not exactly the same. Nigel is a published writer and author with a degree in literature. I was once a professional graphic designer who struggles with spelling and gramar grammar.
Here are the 15 blogs we’re passing all three awards to. rankly, I’d give everyone in my follower list an award, but that would take forever. I’m giving them to some blogs that you really need to check out. Some of you guys already have some of these awards, and if you do, you deserve another one!

Is the ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ Delay Really About Channing Tatum? | /Film
Deadline
says that test screenings for G.I. Joe: Retaliation didn’t go well, and
that “the only bright spot for audiences as a result of the G.I. Joe 2
testing was the aborted relationship between Tatum and Dwayne ‘The Rock’
Johnson.” The relationship is aborted (spoiler that everyone should have known already)
because the sequel kills him off in the first act. Why do you think
he’s not on the poster, or in the trailer after the opening moments?

AMT Model Enterprise NCC 1701-A – Star Trek – Sci Fi Blog.
This detailed model enterprise 1701-A came equipped with sound effects and 12 light emitting diodes which required a steady hand to be sure. The secondary hull which you see here, houses the bulk of the fiber optic cabling but despite there being a whole ton of wiring over flowing the plumbing of the ship, my memory banks recalled what Montgomery Scott said in Star Treks TOS episode of Naked Time.
Star Trek: Vulcanology: Spock Mr. Potato Head Review
The costume tunic is removable in two pieces and the hair and ears are removable as well. I wasn’t able to remove the face or the arms. I didn’t try to put a lot of pressure on them so it’s possible they are actually removable. There’s just not many options for mixing and mashing and creating a “funny face man.”
Let’s Get Out Of Here!: Maniacal Movie Poster Monday #70!
This is the British Quad poster, hence the Anglo-Amalgamated Film Distributors, and the “X Certificate” as the Brits didn’t think movies like this were for children, whereas Americans didn’t think it was for anyone but children.
Closet Geek Gurl: Should Chicks Write About Superheroes?
Superhero stories have long been the handy work of men. They have (for the most part) been manly stories about macho men written by (of course) men. I have to wonder if I am stepping on anyone’s toes by taking on this genre the way I am.
PT Dilloway: Wild Card Wednesday: Scarlet Knight Vs…
The Internet loves debating that age-old question of “who would win in a fight”. So I thought I’d have my hero toss her helmet into the ring.
Steve Goble: Doctor Who: Space / Time
This is authentic Doctor Who start to finish, and stands up perfectly well as an entry into the canon in its own right. No-one puts on a red nose, or picks up a Pudsey, or is greeted by Terry Wogan walking on set at the end. It even seems to be take place between the episodes that were broadcast around it.

Sci-Fi Songs: The 5 Step “Stargate” Guide To Twitter (Teal’c Edition)
1. Be Succinct
Teal’c was the classic strong but silent type. He would get his point across with just one or two words. Even though Twitter allows you to use 140 characters per tweet, shoot for less than that. Shorter tweets rise above the social media static and tend to get more re-tweets.
Never Mind Pop Film: Geek Stuff: Spidey was Popular in High School?
EW’s debuted new images of Marc Webb’s Amazing Spider-Man today. One of the things to pop into my mind is this: Peter Parker was apparently popular in high school. This must be the different side of Spider-man that all of the promotional ads are guaranteeing. Either that, or Greasers 3 got the greenlight.
My Star Trek Scrapbook: Starlog #1 Color Star Trek Section
When the first issue of Starlog came out in the July of 1976 (see the cover here), fans like me didn’t just embrace it, we ran up to it on the magazine rack and placed wet sloppy kisses over it as we wept for joy. Here, at last, was a regular monthly magazine devoted to Star Trek and science fiction film and TV!
Vibrant Oxymoron: Simon Pegg on Benedict Cumberbatch – “It’s not Khan”
Simon Pegg is denying the rumors that Benedict Cumberbatch is playing Khan in the sequel. “(Benedict’s character is) not just another disgruntled alien. It’s a really interesting… sort of… thing. Obviously I can’t talk about it. It’s not Khan, that’s a myth. Everyone’s saying it is, but it’s not.”

Dorn is pitching a Worf-centric, low-budget Trek film that will pick up with Worf captaining a Federation ship. He’s writing the script himself and says he’s shooting for a darker, edgier take on the traditional Next Generation style.

4. Trivia Answer:
At least seven members of the cast and crew of The Avengers have been nominated for Academy Awards. Robert Downey Jr. (Chaplin), Gwyneth Paltrow (Shakespeare in Love), Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction), Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker), Mark Ruffalo (The Kids Are All Right), director Joss Whedon (Toy Story), and cinematographer Seamus McGarvey (Atonement).
Bonus Trivia: Can you name three actors who played the Hulk or Bruce “David” Banner?
Want to congratulate our recipients? What do you think of the links? Is the layout of the post still confusing? Anything I can do to make it easier to read?

could you first explain the difference between bruce and david banner… over the years i have become so confused to which is who and who is a witch. and to getting to know you… wait you are a twin… i thought you were a super hero with different super powers. this is one solid post my friend… and thank you for the award nod… you do have a great site and it is a pleasure to read what you will have next.
Didn't know that about mirror twins. At least you both share a love of all things geek.
Wow this is a huge post. Congratulations on the blog. I'm a regular visitor to P.T. Dilloway's blog and I liked the whole Scarlet Knight vs. DC and Marvel superheroes post. It got my mind to thinking.
Aww thank you 🙂 Marvel MMO, I'm addicted already hehe! That number 3 twin fact fact is slightly creepy! Does it scare you?
Jeremy, David Bruce Banner is the name given to him in the television show. Not sure why. As far as I know thats the only place he was called David. You deserve the awards man. Especially for all the art you've done for bloggers.
Alex, it's pretty interesting to me too. Yes, geek love brings us together.
Michael, thanks. Your comment on that post was really detailed. Good job
Anna, it is kinda. I didn't even think it was strange until years later. On the other hand, it's possible that we just told the story so many times it feels like we switched places.
Thanks for the clip and shout out – it's almost like being included in The Soup – only much less snarky!
Your welcome Craig. The Soup is awesome. I'll add a touch of snark next time.
Thanks for the link and the awards! Wil Wheaton was in the Avengers? Was he the SHIELD agent playing Centipede or whatever on the bridge? Or some other worthless character who I hope died?
It's kind of sobering to see how many Oscar-nominated actors took an easy paycheck for that movie and its various offshoots. I guess it's better that than to be Michael Dorn, trying to revive his career with some crappy low budget movie no one will want to see.
As for the bonus trivia question: Bill Bixby played David Banner in the 70s show and Lou Ferigno played the Hulk. In 2003 Eric Bana played Bruce Banner and Nick Nolte played his father David Banner and the Hulk was CGI'd from motion capture of Ang Lee or something awful. In 2008 Edward Norton played Bruce Banner and I think they used Lou Ferigno for the one time the Hulk spoke. Then of course in 2012 for The Avengers Mark Ruffalo played Bruce Banner and again the Hulk was CGI'd though I think this time they did a pretty good job making the Hulk look as if he were based on Ruffalo.
Thanks for including me in this blog award extravaganza! It sort of feels like being assigned homework. Ha! I really appreciate you promoting my blog. Thanks, friend!
You got it PT! Great job on the trivia question. I think you got them all.
Your very welcome Jessica, it is kind of a double-edged sword to get these awards.
WOW! Thanks for the awards! 😀 I'll get cracking on the rules when I get the chance 😛 Thanks again! 🙂
Yadin, you're welcome. 200 followers next!
Some real interesting facts in this post. I just saw Toy Story, which I last saw some 14 years ago; never realized Joss Whedon worked on its screenplay. Thanks for the awards. I'll be sure to write up a post for the one I haven't already gotten. 🙂
Thanks for the mention Maurice, that model AMT USS Enterprise NCC 1701 is my pride and joy.
Spacerguy, it's a masterpiece.

I agree! So, thanks. And also, YOU JERK! LOL
OMG! Thanks Maurice for the award AND the links! I so need to work on that long-gestating award post of mine lol!
OOH! And those twin facts…? Very interesting indeed! 🙂
It ain't easy Neil. These awards can be a lot of work.
