Men in Black’s Sexiest Aliens, Ranked (Plus the Hottest Guys)

When you think of aliens from the Men In Black films, you think of dogs or worms. But, there have been a few hotties in the mix.

With MIB3 coming out this week I started thinking about the aliens in the series and realized something: There have been some really attractive aliens. I’m not talking about the worm guys or the pug, but every now and then they snuck in a supermodel.

While I admit five is a short list of the dozens of aliens the movies have had, it’s a lot more than I thought there would be when I started.

1. Zarthan Laura Vasquez (Rosario Dawson)

Rosario Dawson played Laura Vasquez in Men in Black II. Laura gets pulled into a plot to find the “Light of Zartha,” and ends up caught in the middle of the chaos alongside Agent J. Frankly, her performance wasn’t my favorite in the movie. But she’s a lovely woman and a lot of fun to watch on screen.

Laura works at a pizza place in Manhattan, which is a pretty ordinary job for someone who ends up neuralyzed twice and dragged into an alien conspiracy over the course of one very strange week. Dawson plays her with a mix of confusion and good humor, which fits a character who spends most of the movie reacting to things she has no context for. It’s not a demanding role dramatically, but it doesn’t need to be.

The most memorable scene is easily the one where Agent J takes her on what’s supposed to be a date, and it turns into a game of “Twister” involving actual aliens. It’s a goofy, over-the-top sequence, but it’s also one of the few moments in the movie that fully commits to being fun instead of just loud. Dawson sells the confusion and the charm in equal measure, and it’s a fun watch even if the role itself is pretty thin.

2. Lilly (Nicole Scherzinger)

Nicole Scherzinger, the lead singer of “The Pussycat Dolls,” played Lilly in MIB III back in 2012. Lilly is the villain and girlfriend of Agent J, and she’s one of the more memorable human-facing threats in the movie, mostly because Scherzinger brought real star power to a role that could’ve easily been forgettable.

Her casting made sense the moment the first photos leaked. She’d already built a career on stage presence and glamour with the Pussycat Dolls, so stepping into a role that required looking good on camera while causing trouble for the Men in Black wasn’t much of a stretch. It’s a flashy supporting part, the kind studios love handing to a pop star trying out an acting career, and Scherzinger made the most of the screen time she got.

What’s interesting is that Lilly isn’t just eye candy on paper. She’s tangled up with Agent J in a way that complicates his loyalties and adds a little tension to a plot that otherwise leans hard on nostalgia and time travel. It’s not a career-defining performance, but it’s a fun one, and it holds up as one of the more stylish additions to the MIB rogues’ gallery over a decade later.

3. “Mysteries In History” Ambassador Lauranna  (Paige Brooks)

Lauranna is the princess of the Zarthans, seen here in a cheesy reenactment. The actress looks pretty good, though. The costume was so over-the-top, and the scene so hilariously cheesy, that it’s my favorite part of the lackluster movie.

This version of Lauranna shows up in one of Men in Black II’s weirder detours: a dramatized “historical” reenactment meant to explain the backstory of the Light of Zartha. It plays out like a cheap sci-fi soap opera, complete with dramatic lighting and a costume that looks like it raided a Renaissance fair and a costume shop’s alien-princess clearance rack at the same time. It shouldn’t work. Somehow, it does.

Paige Brooks doesn’t have to carry a ton of plot here. Her job is basically to look regal, deliver a few lines with a straight face, and sell the joke that this whole sequence is intentionally over-acted. She pulls it off well, and the exaggerated costume actually works in her favor instead of burying her.

It’s a small, throwaway scene in the grand scheme of the movie, but it’s memorable precisely because it doesn’t take itself seriously. Out of everything in Men in Black II, this reenactment is the part I still think about, mostly because it’s so committed to being ridiculous. Brooks deserves credit for playing along with a straight face.

4. Ambassador Lauranna (Linda Kim)

In Agent K’s flashback, we got a better look at Lauranna, played by Linda Kim. Linda is barely on-screen for a minute in Men in Black II. But the actress is lovely. She also played a geisha in Austin Powers, so she’s had practice making small roles count.

The flashback itself is one of the more interesting bits of world-building in the movie. It’s the scene that explains why Agent K was neuralyzed in the first place. It also shows why the Zarthans came to Earth looking for the Light. Lauranna doesn’t get much dialogue or screen time compared to the reenactment version played by Paige Brooks. But she gets something better: she’s the “real” version of the character, not a cheesy dramatization of it.

It’s a small role in a movie packed with bigger, weirder aliens. Still, Kim makes the most of her minute. She plays an alien princess with a quiet dignity, even though the character is mostly there to move the plot forward. It’s the kind of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it performance that rewards viewers who pay attention during the flashback instead of just waiting for the next joke.

5. Serleena (Lara Flynn Boyle)

Serleena is an evil, shapeshifting Kylothian Queen in Men in Black II. Serleena was played with delicious evil by Lara Flynn Boyle. Technically, she’s just a bunch of tentacles, but she managed to make a pretty nice body out of them, which is more than I can say for most tentacle monsters in movie history.

The whole point of Serleena is that she’s hunting for the “Light of Zartha,” and she’s willing to disguise herself as a Victoria’s Secret model to get it. That’s basically the plot excuse for why she looks the way she does, and honestly, it works. Boyle plays her with this smirking, over-it confidence that makes her feel more like a bored supervillain than a random creature-feature monster, which is exactly what the role needed.

There’s also something fun about the reveal scene, where she goes from human disguise to full tentacled alien queen and somehow doesn’t lose any of her presence in the process. Most shapeshifter effects in these movies are played for laughs or gross-out value. Serleena’s are played for menace, and Boyle sells it. She’s proof that even a CGI-heavy alien villain can still be memorable when the actress underneath is having fun with it. 

6. Pawny (Kumail Nanjiani)

Okay, this one’s a bit of a curveball compared to everyone else on this list. Pawny, voiced by Kumail Nanjiani in Men in Black: International, isn’t a “hottest alien” pick in the traditional sense. He’s a tiny alien warrior, about the size of a chess piece, and he spends most of the movie riding around in Agent M’s bag. But he earned a spot here anyway, because he’s genuinely one of the most likable characters the franchise has produced in years.

Pawny is the last survivor of his species after the Twins wipe out his people, and he pledges loyalty to M almost immediately. Nanjiani plays him with this dry, deadpan energy that turns what could’ve been an annoying sidekick gimmick into one of the movie’s actual highlights. He’s funny without trying too hard, and he’s got more personality in his tiny frame than most of the human cast combined.

So no, Pawny isn’t going to win any “hottest alien” polls. But if this list is really about which aliens fans can’t stop talking about, he belongs here. Sometimes charm beats good looks, even in a franchise built on the opposite idea.

7. Riza Stavros (Rebecca Ferguson)

Rebecca Ferguson played Riza Stavros in Men in Black: International, an alien arms dealer and Agent H’s ex-girlfriend with a taste for expensive real estate and even more expensive weapons. She’s got three arms, which honestly just means more ways to be intimidating, and she runs her operation out of an island fortress that looks like it costs more than most small countries. Frankly, her performance was one of the few things that actually worked in an otherwise lackluster reboot attempt.

Riza and Agent H apparently had a fling before the movie starts, and Ferguson plays the “we have history and I still don’t trust you” energy perfectly. When H’s crew shows up looking for a stolen weapon, she doesn’t scream or panic. She just sits back, lets her bodyguard handle the rough stuff, and negotiates like she’s got all the leverage. Because she does.

It’s not the first time Ferguson has played someone dangerous and magnetic, and it won’t be the last. But there’s something about doing it in three-armed alien form, in a franchise that usually gives its villains rubber suits and one-liners, that makes Riza stand out. She’s proof the series can still create a genuinely compelling alien when it tries.

8. The Twins (Larry & Laurent Bourgeois)

Larry and Laurent Bourgeois, the identical twin dancers who played the alien assassins simply known as the Twins in Men in Black: International. Before this movie, the brothers were already famous as Les Twins, one half of the dance duo that built a following through Beyoncé’s “Run the World” tour and years of viral choreography videos.

That dance background shows up in every scene they’re in. The Twins move like a single organism, all sharp angles and eerie synchronization, that makes them feel genuinely unsettling as villains instead of just another pair of guys in black coats. They barely speak, but the physicality does all the work, and it’s the kind of performance that only makes sense once you know these two spent years training their bodies to move in perfect unison.

They’re ruthless in the movie, hunting down Vungus and anyone connected to him without hesitation. But there’s no denying the appeal here: two genetically blessed alien enforcers who look like they stepped out of a fashion campaign between kills. Consider this one for the readers who wanted equal representation.
