    One of the most popular Stephen King adaptations was The Running Man. The story of a near-future where a popular TV show pits condemned criminals against trained warriors in gladiatorial combat.       The Running Man (book and film) were ahead of their time in predicting the rise of the reality TV game-show. What would be different about a modern version? Simon Cowell and a panel of celebrities replace Killian; and contestants using their dying breaths to proclaim how much they've loved being on the show, which has been an "emotional journey."
