Fans can now enter famous movies and television shows thanks to Airbnb.
Travelers may now enter their favorite movies, gain access to previously inaccessible tourist spots, and have once-in-a-lifetime experiences with famous hosts thanks to the service’s recently launched Icons category. The highlight is a visit to the X-Manson from X-Men ’97, an overnight stay in the house from Up, a chat with Kevin Hart, and a private performance by Doja Cat are all part of the first launch.
There are 11 experiences available in the new category that were not available to guests before. The majority of the “Icon” experiences, according to the website, are free, and all cost less than $100 per person, however, there will be a limited number of them. A “digital golden ticket” to the event of their choice will be given to a select few after the site features a countdown display that indicates when each item goes live. The Up, X-Men, and Khaby Lame listings went live on May 1, while the others go live later. More than 4,000 tickets to its Icon category events will be distributed in 2024. They’re essentially promotional events rather than regularly available rentals.

“Icons take you inside worlds that only existed in your imagination—until now,” said Brian Chesky, Airbnb co-founder and CEO. “As life becomes increasingly digital, we’re focused on bringing more magic into the real world. With Icons, we’ve created the most extraordinary experiences on Earth.”
A cartoonish depiction of Charles Xavier’s Westchester, New York, home for adolescent mutants, complete with a severed Sentinel head on the front lawn, is the centerpiece, the intricately detailed X-Mansion. Characters from the X-Men, such as Wolverine and Jubilee, have inspired the design of its chambers. With a day to live like a mutant prodigy, it appears packed with Easter eggs for the superfan.
Here are some pics
The X-Mansion, hosted by Jubilee, sleeps eight people in four bedrooms, five beds, and two and a half bathrooms. The price per guest is $97, and reservations must be made by May 13 at 11:59 PM PT.
Jubilee says that the following are some of the activities you can partake in while visiting:
- I’ll lead you through new student orientation (don’t worry we’ll get to the fun stuff fast).
- Enter Beast’s totally gnarly lab! It’s like a science playground where you’ll be able to power-up with mutant energy elixirs.
- Take a class in the Danger Room, where some of our combat professors will teach you how to improve your fighting skills—you never know when you’ll have to fend off The Hellfire Club!
- Head to the War Room to try on Cerebro, and find out your mutant superpower. Maybe you’ll be an Omega level mutant like Storm!
- Before you leave, we’ll debrief you on your new powers AND you can snag your official diploma and class photo.
- Oh, and beignets for breakfast (Gambit’s secret recipe) My fave!
The last two episodes of X-Men ’97’s first season will air on Disney+ on May 8 and May 15, signaling the end of the show.
